Experienced and highly presentable receptionist wanted to work for a lovely country hotel in rural Oxfordshire, you must like countryside locations.

Your duties will include manning the reception desk, checking in customers, dealing with telephone enquiries, helping organise events like weddings, booking details on computer system.
Excellent telephone speaking manner and good references essential.

Salary: £15,000 per year
Accomomodation: £350 per month.

Responsible to: Operations Manager

Responsible for: taking responsibility for daily bookings and enquiries whilst providing excellent customer service and maximising sales.

Working as part of our Reception team, the Hotel Receptionist will enjoy multi-tasking and prioritising your workload in a busy and friendly office atmosphere.

You will provide our guests with a consistent professional service by demonstrating your excellent customer service and excellent communication skills.

We are a leading Country House Hotel, family run, with an outstanding restaurant, based in rural Oxfordshire yet only 11 miles from the City of Oxford. We have 10 bedrooms, a 30 seat restaurant, and conference room. The Hotel is a perfect spot for idyllic weddings and all other celebrations.

Ideally we are seeking someone with prior experience in the Hotel industry with outstanding experience as a Hotel Receptionist or Reservations Agent and proven organizational skills. You will be enthusiastic and motivated, with a good eye for detail and accuracy. The role also relies on developing a relationship with other departments in the hotel, hence it is crucial you are able to communicate effectively to ensure control measures are understood and adhered to.

As Hotel Receptionist your Key Responsibilities include:

To answer all incoming Reservation inquiries, by e-mail, telephone or fax, in a timely manner, to the agreed departmental standard, and wherever possible to convert them to bookings.
To be fully knowledgeable in the operation, functionality and standards required in using the Alacer and Open Table reservations systems.
To adhere to the Minimum Rate/Minimum Stay Selling strategies, whilst always attempting to gain the highest possible revenue advantage for the hotel.
To input Reservations into the Alacer and Open Table reservations system, ensuring all details are accurate and complete in line with the agreed departmental standard.
To give a polite and friendly response to all incoming telephone inquiries.
To maintain accurate filing systems for all correspondence within the department, and ensure all filing is completed daily.
To perform general office duties such as photocopying, faxing and filing.
To be fully aware of and adhere to the credit policy and procedures of the Hotel.
To be fully aware of the facilities of the Hotel, and to pass this information on to customers whenever possible.
To maximise hotel revenue by taking every opportunity to up-sell products and hotel services whenever possible.
To build up a good rapport with customers / regular bookers on the telephone to encourage future loyalty and business opportunities.
To identify potential Sales Leads for the Operations Manager to develop future accounts.
To be aware of the financial targets of the Hotel and the contribution made by the Reception Team in achieving those targets.
To ensure a high degree of personal skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
To perform as part of a team, assisting colleagues where necessary and carrying out other relevant duties as requested by the Operations Manager.



The Experience & Qualifications required as Receptionist are:

Previous experience working in Hotel Reception is an advantage
Experience of using Alacer and Open Table reservation system or similar system is an advantage.
Qualifications in Hospitality an advantage.
